Julia is 13. Her 13th birthday was in Jan 2009

How long has Julia played the violin? Since she was 5, but her playing really picked up when she came to England at age 7.

Is Julia naturally talented or a hard worker? 

Julia is very naturally talented at music and many other things, including art and academic subjects. She does also work very hard and practises the violin for several hours a day.

Julia was born in South Korea. Her Korean name is Jung-Won Hwang. She has been studying in England since August 2003.

Where does Julia take music lessons? 

Julia's violin teacher is Professor Richard Cabtree, who teaches at Clifton College. Richard is also a visiting Professor to the Trinity College of Music in London.

How does Julia manage it all?  

Julia is confident and mature for her age. She is a dedicated and determined individual. Like most performers she experiences pre-performance nerves, and really enjoys performing in public. Julia is very modest about her musical talent.

Julia has become "Jeune Espoir 2008" Laureate of the Concours Internationaux de Musique Academie de Val d'Isère

Julia received a Diploma in her Diploma ABRSM exam in Dec 08.

On February 11th at 5:00, Julia performed a recital in Val d’Isère Church in France.
