Julia's Violin
Julia has had a world-class violin on permanent loan, since moving to a full-size violin in December 2007. This violin is loaned to her on formal agreement through a trust, set up by the owners who had heard her play and were moved to contribute. The agreement explains that:
"…the Trustees express the intention not to reclaim possession of the Violin whilst they consider that it is being properly used and is furthering Julia's career"
Below: Julia's Guarnerius violin
The violin is a Peter Guarnerius, made in Mantua c1698. Peter Guarnerius is commonly considered one of the finest violin makers of all time, and his instruments are rare. They have been played by world class violinists over the centuries, including Joseph Szigeti.

The violin was delivered to Julia from its previous player in Australia. The photograph below shows Julia with her teacher Professor Richard Crabtree at Beare and Sons in London, a top dealer in Europe, where she collected the violin in December 2007.
